The lesson is: if you're thinking about buying or trying some piece of software because of awards it's received, check out the awards themselves and what the tests were to get it. Personally, if I get my eye on a piece of software that I think would be handy, I tend to check around to find out what it is like. I keep an eye out for Awards such as those mentioned and if I have never heard or seen them before I then tend to leave the software well alone.
