Here is my situation:

I installed TweakUI to see what it had to offer but I ended up uninstalling it. I'm not sure what I did but I changed something because the next time I boot up, my user profile is gone. I can still see the folder in C:\documents and settings, but I don't get an option to log in/modify this profile. Is there anything I can do to reapply the settings from this profile? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Strange you should say that, but I installed TweakUI some time ago and during a bit of housekeeping I decided that I don't need it (since I've never used it), but I couldn't find an uninstall.

It wasn't listed in Add & Remove, so how do you safely Uninstall?

I don't have any system restore points (I stupidly didn't make one because I didn't think I was changing anything huge :( ) and I already uninstalled the tweakUI program (via add/remove programs).

So basically, my question is, can I make a new profile with the settings from my old profile?

I had some important documents on my old profile that I cannot access anymore.

Win XP automatically sets a restore point when changes are made. Have you looked into it?

Control Panel, Performance & Maintenance, System Restore top left.

I have it in my list of programmes but have only used it once. I also don't see an uninstall for it.

seansba, if you have an administrator account you can find details of all you user accounts and profiles using the command line "control userpasswords2". Be very careful using the User Accounts Dialog Box that comes up, it's extremely powerful. Your best working with an advanced manual on your desk, or asking a knowledgeable person to help you (that leaves me out!). :flowers:
