Free view is available through a terrestrial television aerial, Freesat is available via Astra 2 and your existing satellite dish. I have actually fitted a Freesat box on Tuesday and must say for a totally free service it knocks the pants off sky. 80 free channels at the moment and 200 by the end of the year. You still get the stations that your TV licence would normally cover plus a few extras such as Movies for Men, True Movies and a couple of 'Oh boy isn't it getting warm in here' type channals. The bugger with Sky is that the last time I watched the so called freebies, Sky wanted £1,00 per month each for E4 and More4 and there were one or two other channels.Read the other day that Murdock has officially complained about this Freesat Service that has been launched and he was told more or less to get stuffed as he did not own space. :lol: :lol: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
andsome Posted June 10, 2008 Report Share Posted June 10, 2008 As I posted on here some months ago, we had Sky, but got fed up with paying about £24 per month for just occasional viewing of most of the channels. We cancelled the subscription and watched Freesat for a month or two until the digital box started to play up. I then bought a Freeview box and we watched that for a few weeks until Virgin wrote to us. The gist of the letter was that as ex NTL TV viewers, and BB and telephone customers we were offered a special deal of the XL TV package, which works out at about 140 channels for £1 per month.
