Boris
Irene,Your suspicion about SpySweeper appears to be well founded I uninstalled SpySweeper - having previously made sure I had a copy of my free 1 year licence key :)Turned off all running programs except AVG and Zone AlarmWent to Windows Update and the whole install process completed with no problems :D :DThen I reinstalled SpySweeper and everything now appears to be working fine ???I have not yet tried the XP Home machine, ... that is not running SpySweeper but does have a similar thing in the form of Prevx installed - which may be the reason why that one didn't upgrade properly either ??? andsome
The degree of fragmentation looked quite horrendous. :DP.S. Running C Cleaner does NOT remove the liitle arrown on my computer. Once there, they stay there.
