renshaw8
This Icon appeared in my Taskbar a while back and I can't figure out what it is. There is no explanation when I hover over it like all the other icons. I'd appreciate it if anyone recognizes it and could tell me what it is. Thanks

ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
The icon looks like some kind of anti-malware, but I can't say if it's legitimate or not. Have you recently scanned your system for malware?
renshaw8
Yes, everyday. I just did full antivirus scan yesterday with AntiVir and spyware scan with SpywareTerminator. My computer is working good but it just showed up one day about a month ago and I've been wondering what it is.

ThanksHave you tried seeing what the Customize feature says about it?It should tell you what it is like in my example below:To get the Customize option right click on the Windows taskbar and select Properties and you should see the Customize tab. Belatucadrus
I'm not sure what it applies to, but the red circle with a bar at the bottom RHS of the icon usually implies deactivated or non functional hardware. Shows up on volume control when muted or LAN connections when they have limited or faulty connection. Has something come disconnected or been removed ? brambell
Are you using a laptop?
renshaw8
Under the Customize properties the icon says (no title). It says "hide when inactive"??? I'm using a Toshiba laptop with XP. I did disable my 1394 and my old Juno connection but that was a while before the icon appeared on my taskbar. D4\/!d
..as it seems to Startup on it's own have you looked in MSConfig to see what's listed there..??
renshaw8
D4....I don't see anything that sticks out in msconfig. There's a couple of things that I'm not sure about. It wouldn't have anything to do with Ehome would it? I never noticed that in my startup before (even though it might have been there). y2khardtop
looks like a touchpad.......
renshaw8
Maybe you have something there y2k , I did disable my touchpad but that was a while back also. You would think that it would say something when I hover over it, though. I'm not real concerned about it. I just thought that somebody would have recognized it pretty soon and would let me know what it is.
