My 12 year old son phoned me today and asked me if I would chip-in half, towards a pair of Rockport boots for him,for the new school-term.He mentioned £60.

I stupidly said "yes" thinking it was gonna cost me £30...Oh NO....the things cost £115!!!!!

He wants me to cough up £60 as half payment for a pair of kids boots...I mean,Christ!! I walk around in rags because I can't afford clothing at the moment.

I wish his Mum had just said no :(

It's a bloody joke. :smart:

Well my nike trainers were £120, the price you pay from quality shoes from sweatshops

More fool you for buying a name. These so called 'DESIGNER' labels are made in the same sweat shops as the cheaper products. You don't really think that you got value at £120 for a pair of trainers do you. I paid £10 for a pair in a market and have used them for over two years, and they couldn't be more comfortable. You have been well and truly conned.

You should be able to talk to kids and explain the reason why you are not prepared to pay through the nose in order to line the pockets of over rich company's. Too many kids rule the roost and have their way to the detriment of the family as a whole.
