I tried to download the latest update from MS which included the latest version of Internet Explorer without much success. Then I noticed this room so logged on and found that there are quite a few problems with this latest download. The problem I seem to have been left with is that when I click onto the Tools/Options or Tools/Delete Browsing History nothing happens. Does anybody have any idea what I can do to correct this problem.It happens also in Control Panel if I d/click on Internet Options. I ended up trying to uninstall IE 8 Beta which had become corrupted by all the messing around I put it through!!!! In doing this I ignored a warning about missing file and bye-passed it to my sorrow. Then although I could get into Internet System I couldn't type any text within the pages. So!!! yes it goes on! I decided to put System Disc in and Repaired Windows which seems to have cleared everything up and along the way taught me a lesson. I now have original IE 6 running and would like to know if I should stay with it or download IE 7 which I have on a disc, IE 8 or leave it at IE 6 !!!Thanks again for putting up with me. catgate Posted February 14, 2009 Report Share Posted February 14, 2009 Speaking as one grandad to another, I think you will not go too far wrong with IE6. There have been complaints on here about IE7. Another option is to ignore IE altogether and download Mozilla Firefox. There are probably as many people here using Firefox as are using IE. andsome Posted February 14, 2009 Report Share Posted February 14, 2009 I have had no problems with IE 7. I think that there may have been such problems with some processors. By all means try a different browser, but could I suggest that before you do so, invest in Acronis and make a complete back up. I tried Firefox and didn't like it although some on here do. I think the main thing most of the helpers here like to read is feedback to the forum as to whether the suggestions worked or not.
