It is a rather splendid thing that does everything apart from provide tea and toast.Our old 'phone, also a Samsung, is on PAYG Orange and I would like to switch sim cards. Hence I am enquiring if anyone knows how to unlock the old one so as to facilitate the move.I am led to believe that it is just a matter of feeding in some "magic numbers".edit:- The "new" 'phone is a D900. I can see two problems with that advice though, one your from Yorkshire or there abouts so don't like spending any money, and two do they do technology that far north. Even with WOT and whatever other add-on you're using, I wouldn't personally trust them as a lot of them can have errors or stuff.Yes, all it is is entering some numbers and sending a request to the provider with those numbers but I don't know any. :(Anywho. You don't get much cheaper than that. I don't think you can do it for free unless you bought one of the pieces of hardware they sell for it, but I don't know where you'd get a working one. andsome Posted February 8, 2009 Report Share Posted February 8, 2009 I have twice taken a Sim card out of one phone and put it into another. All it does is to transfer the address book. I have done this when buying a new phone and not wanting to enter everything again. :DThis wont work if the phone is locked into a network, when they almost give you the phones they don't want you using them and paying a rival. Using one set of code I managed to apparently "unlock" the little beast from it's sim card, in as much as it does not proclaim the Orange card as "Wrong Card" and furthermore it now does not recognise its own card. When this is put in, and the on button is pushed, the screen indicates that it is in need of a sim card.The exercise has floundered at the eleventh hour because the keypad is protected by a password.
