silver Posted March 16, 2009 Report Share Posted March 16, 2009 Okay, here's my problem - note: keep in mind my knowledge about computers is as plentiful as Paris Hilton's knowledge on how to work the washing machine so any response shouldn't be too technical . About a year before, I played a DVD on computer, everything was good. Now, i got this other DVD went to play it and it sucks. the picture is fine but the audio is horrible. the character sound slur or warped like they're drunk. at first i thought it was the DVD, maybe it was scratched. i played it on my DVD player (you know the one that connects to my Tv. it played fine there. so i figure nothing is wrong with the DVD but the DVD player or whatever you call it inside the computer. Before coming here, i checked to see if i can resolve this myself. as i understand it, i might have to clean the DVD drive but i don't know how to do that. i read a lot about a CD-ROM CLEANER, but i don't want to to clean my CD drive- that works just fine. And then i saw another product that says CD/DVD CLEANER so i'm thinking this might be it, but then it say to use on portable DVD player, nothing about computers. Sony is particularly fond of doing this but other producers do it as well.It is likely that there is nothing at all wrong with your DVD drive - check with another disk.If all disks play like this then it will be necessary to change the drive which shouldn't be too onerous on a desktop machine. There are some DVD's thatsimply don't work. I remember borrowing an original DVD of my favorite movie and I was so frustrated when it won't play on my computer. Whew!
