Every Singhala and Tamil household prepares special food and takes a share of it to their neighbours - Hindu, Buddhist, Christian, Moslem and those of no religion. So you can imagine, everyone eats heartily. It is a time when people make a special effort to wish goodwill towards all other living beings.
