AlanHo
After a little haggling with my ISP I was given a better deal which included a reduction in my monthly fee and an immedite upgrade to 20 Mb broadband. (I believe that the 20 Mb upgrade was coming soon anyway - it's just that I got it now rather than later).Although the speed is now upped from 10 Mb to 20 Mb I cannot honestly detect any difference.I don't ever download music or videos - hence the extra speed is perhaps wasted on me - unless there is a factor I am unaware of.I'm glad I have not had to pay extra for the higher speed - in my case it would not be worth it. AlanHo
I just fired up my spare computer to find that it needed 16 Windows Updates totalling 346 MB. I timed the download which took 152 seconds (2.5 minutes).I think that this works out at a download speed of 18.2 Mb per second.Hence i have just saved myself a whole minute compared with my previous BB speed. However - I have not invested this minute wisely - I spent two minutes thinking about what to do with it.
