AlanHo
The government may introduce a tax of 50p per month on everyone's phone line to fund the provision of fast broadband to those who live out in the sticks.Click here
catgate
As far as I can see this is just another tax that will be collected by the telephone companies, who will be allower to keep some of it for their trouble, and the rest will go to HMG to fund the extra internet surveillance and control that is being cooked up.As far as catgate getting a bit more speed I fear my needs, and the needs of thousand like me, will count for nothing. I expect that the "needs" of the centres of population (where all the lemmings vote) will be the primary concern.
andsome
BB should of course be available to all, but NOT at a cost to others. It should be like everything else, if you want it pay for it. :D
