Mysterius Computer Slowdown

Since yesterday i have encounter a slowdown of my computer

Computer allways starts normal fast, then after time it getts slower and slower of something, at climax

its basicly to press "reset" that is the only way out of it, i dont know if there exist any new virus

that behaves like this? but i have have performed several virus and malware scans in safe mode

and its shows nothing but tracking cookies as usual

One thing i cant help to wonder about is that as soon as i touch my media files with mousepointer direct or indirect seem to be the thing that trigger the whole thing faster,

with indirect i mean that i notice that if i allso install codecs or codecpacks it slows down directley on 100 % complete install

have tested install both FFDshow and K-lite Codec pack and its the same,

Windows behaves like generaly registry keys related to media files have becomed totaly corrupted in some way even thou it wont complain on anything

cause when view my installed codecs in the application "codec sniper" no codec is reported broken offcorse

This slowdown acts perm as soon as it trigger..until i restart computer then it resetts to fast again

it affects most the screenupdate, so trying to maximize vinfobar to the left in windows explorer are wery lagging

and generaly dragging open windows in any direction goes in a slowmotion, internet goes slow allso

therefore i have tested to reinstall my Radeon graphic driver to exclude that trail, but it didnt change anything, but the computer behaves like it does

when you dont even have any graphicdriver installed, you know it laggs when you shall scroll down anything, but what moore can i do than just reinstalling driver?

I experimented to just play some pc games instead of touching any mediafiles after a windows fresh startup, and guess what there was no slowdown at all for 2 hours,

until i minimized game and touched a mediafile relative, then the computer started to think loud for 5 seconds while showing a short timeglass..that was all

but windows was after slowed again, and when i returned to the game it offcorse hade Parkinsons decease allso

but it can aswell be something totaly different from this media trail with my luck that cant be identified (roll)

and perhaps its only me who experience there is a slowchange over time..it can be permanent allso, its a wery hard judged case

Im positive it will not helpt to run chkdsk..it never helps, and i did a scam...scan! some weeks ago,it doenst change that fast?

i have defraged C:\ with Pefect Disc yesterday, and i take for granted it becomed better..not worse

Shall i try a repair-reinstallation of windows? (and fail as usual cause my mouse will become disabled when i need it) or a new Windows partition install?

or is there any real solution i could perform instead?

There is a small possibility it's Windows taking it's time to use files and folders on the hard drive and not as much others, maybe a defrag would help speed it up, for now.

Trend Micro have a good virus scanner online, Microsoft has one on their website which scans windows files and stuff for errors and such too.

But I'm not sure what else to say about this. Someone else here may though.

Actually, two other things. Comodo has slowed down my laptop badly at times and a week or so ago I had both AVG and Comodo running at the same time somehow. I saw from your HJT log that you have both, maybe one of them is slowing stuff down or both.

You seem to have parts of AVG Free + Comodo Internet Security + Computer Associates Internet Security anti-Malware programs all running at the same time ?

If so, this can cause problems.

Please clarify what Anti-Virus program(s) you are using ?

What Firewall are you using ?

I have removed the HijackThis log from your post, as we do no longer have qualified staff to analyze a HJT log file.

Slowdowns can be associated with overheating; have you checked the computer's processor and possibly HD temperatures?

I checked with some tool now..and systemdrive was 37 (insert Celsius sign)

To answer some others questions allso, yes im using Comodo Internet Securuty in combination with AVG, i have closed down Comodo now,

but i dont see any directchange, perhaps i shall for safety reinstall both of them..sepparate offorse

I hade just used Perfect Disc to defrag the drive the day this appeared, i have defraged alot last weeks, and go better and better statistic, still it could have done opposite and damaged offcorse to..

but the risk for that is probably wery small..

Trend Micro was a pain to use..especially when the computer is slowdown, it remainds in the "idle" state for a decade, i didnt complete it, but did

with Kaspersky who allso have an as good rumour..

The fastest way for me is probably to attemp a repair reinstallation of windows XP (but during the install i probably will get the error that i have no control

over mouse, and still it want me to manually locate a audio card file) so what remains is complete reinstallation of windows, and if this issue come back with it emidietley then that profs that everything

points towards damaged harddrive i guess?

but now i have locked myself up on 4 different support forums instead, and there is allways a small hope thei will offer the real solution while i sitt and reinstall unnessesary lol

Whait, I see something wery odd going around here now

when i check my taskbar i see that i have several doublette processes active

For instance if i start internet explorer it launches 2 internet explorer processes for only 1 window, the interesting thing

is that it dont close these processes either when i close down internet, so the moore i surf the moore iexplore.exe processes

it collect and saves and keep driving at once, no wonder it goes slow

I wondered how the hell it could take 8 minutes to uninstall a simple program, then i happend to check

my task mananger

i hade zero internet explorer windows open and still 5 iexplore.exe active in taskmanager, as soon as i started to close

down these 5 old IE manually the program uninstallation that went slow started complete in normal speed al of a sudden, so if i have 4 internet windows open..then i have infact 8 with this syndrome

I've had a similar problem with Comodo SafeSurf before and reinstalling sorted it out but AVG does the same thing as Comodo does but also Comodo is a firewall, anti-virus protection, internet protection for IE/FF and monitors any registry change and stuff like that.

That could be why you're having a problem with slowing down.

Also, is it to do with startup programs?

It is quite normal to have multiple occurrences of svchost.exe; do not stop these processes - they are required to run services in the background.

Having multiple occurrences of Internet Explorer means that IE processes are not closing properly. This could be due to some add-ons.

I see thanks, yes i realized that you should atleast have double Svchost just after i hade posted,

but not mutiple Internet explorer processes X4 shall you have

yes i believe something with IE explorer 8 was messing up, cause the problem dissapeared after i hade performed a repair XP installation,

casuse then i hade IE 6 again only, but as soon as i reinstalled 8 (without errors) the procces problem returned in my opinion

And when i saw that repairing didnt work i unfortentley didnt have patient to stand this any longer, so i reinstalled windows totaly

and its gone now basicly, still i can today say that i didnt have any addons to IE installed that may have caused it

These days there seem to be so many conflicts between different items of software conflicting with others or corrupting the .dll list or the registry that it is an absolute must to make a restore point before installing anything new, even simple items like codecs & updates. Over the years I've found that using system restore properly solves 90% of problems associated with downloads & installing new software.

I've also had problems recently trying to use Trend Micro's on-line scanner, so changed to Panda's & had no problems with it.
