kiddd_
Hello again everybody.I'm having a problem with this Hp OfficeJet 6310 All-in-One printer. It seems that all of it's functions are running very very slow.(e.g : printing a normal page needs like 3-5 minutes ).Driver is installed and updated correctly , physical parts are cleaned , no error and everything runs just great ( at least that's what the printer diagnostic tells me). However , this runs too slow.Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions ? Thank you for your support !
-pops-
I have a HP 7310 All in One which had similar symptoms as well as some of its functions (e.g. double sided printing) only working when it felt like doing so.What I did was delete all of the printer software (via Printers & Faxes in the start menu), cold reboot (actually pull the plug and power down) then reinstall as if new. Everything now works fine. Not saying it will be the same for you but, it's worth a try.If re-installing, make sure you follow the correct procedure and only plug in the printer again when instructed. Everything now works fine. Not saying it will be the same for you but, it's worth a try.If re-installing, make sure you follow the correct procedure and only plug in the printer again when instructed. It is more complex than that.I have tryied to see if the printer works on other PC's and the story ends the same way on each one.It is not a malware/spyware issue nor anything like that.I unplug the USB cable from the computer and try to do a simple copy via the printer's scanner , again the same thing - not less than 4-5 minutes- . Again I've run printer diagnostics , tools and updates and it seems that nothing makes it work as it should.I've been reading throughout HP database and I know that this printer encounters problems using MAC , win 2000 , win vista . I use Windows XP SP3 so it shouldn't give me any problems at all ( from this point of view ).I've been looking for soltions in Win XP issues but all of them gave you errors and similar stuff ; but I repeat ( no error for me ).So THAT is the real deal..what to do from this point on ? I've checked everything I could check about it.. Any ideas ? Reinstalling does no good. Thanks for the support !
-pops-
Hmmmm.... I'm stuck, then. Have you tried HP's own Helpdesk?
kiddd_
Hmmmm.... I'm stuck, then. Have you tried HP's own Helpdesk? No warranty or contract.I've been reading that the solution of the problem might be to clean the contacts and injectors of the cartridges. This didn't work either... catgate
I unplug the USB cable from the computer and try to do a simple copy via the printer's scanner , again the same thing - not less than 4-5 minutes- .Does this not indicate that the fault is within the printer itself, and what is really needed is a drop from a high window onto a hard pavement?Printers have become less "hardware" and more "disposable" as time has gone on. Boris
Have you tried replacing the USB cable ?
Dencandy
Have you checked the printer preference settings? It might be that it's set to use high quality photographic printing (or something like that) as its default. I suggest you try all the different qualities of print, including one called somthing like High Speed Draft Printing.
kiddd_
@catgate You are right , I should drop it from a high level window onto hard ground.Thing is , I'm working as a I.T technician and the printer is of some costumer of the company so sadly I can't really do that . :)@boris Checked the cable. It's not it.@Dencandy Checked the settings a 1000 times.Settings are OK.Even on Fast Copy Printing works as slow as ever.Any more ideas ? I'll try replacing the cartridges meanwhile..Thanks for the support ppl !

ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Do you actually know that this printer can print any faster? There are printers that are simply slow - nothing you can do about it.Are there any specs that specify anything about its performance? Dencandy
Is it still under warranty, & can you return it to the supplier for checking? According to this review CNET it should be able to print nearly 3 pages per minute. That review also says HP provide toll-free advice for one year after purchase. Dencandy
I replaced the cartridges and everything works just fine now.Thank you all for helping me out ! :D    Excuse me for laughing, but so often these problems have a quite simple straightforward solution. Anyway, I'm sure we're all happy you solved it - even though it probably cost a fortune for the new cartridges.
