Warning to Skype users!

I got two message on my Skype yesterday from a contact that was not in my list. If you get this message it is a scam, do not click on any of the links. I did a search on the URL that they posted and all the info I could find on it was about it being a scam.

Here is the message:

I've had similar messages from other sources (I don't use Skype).

It is always useful to be reminded that others are not as nice people as we are, so thank you Dodle.

I've never had this message.

I've gotten a message like that, From a guy with the username Software.updates.upd3.

Turned out to be a Rogue AntiVirus. Luckily i never went to the site, Instead i checked at Web Of Trust and they have flagged it. It might've been taken down already but i don't know. :)

I too do not use Skype, but have seen similar messages before I started to use Nod 32. This seems to stop all those messages.

Well, do not accept any strangers request. Also, always block if u get such messages.

Coincidentally, I had an international call this morning from a lady telling me that my Internet service was to be disconnected for updating purposes. For further information I had to press button 1 in order to speak to a technician. I just put the phone down without answering. That must be six hours ago, now, and my connection's fine.

Scammers like that can be avoided by adding restrictions on your skype account. Set it to only allow messages from your contact list also, there's also an option that will make you visible only from your contact list, so scammers won't be the able to search you.
