Went out to have dinner and get drunk at a nearby Izakaya.

October 15, 2009; 09:00

Called NTT, and interestingly the guy knew the whole story. He said that someone from NTT will pay us a visit within 30 minutes.

October 15, 2009; 10:00

Two guys from NTT arrived, checked our connection, called my ISP and asked them to set up a whole new test account. Ten minutes later I was given the test account's connection ID and password, which we entered, and - connection successful!

So I have now a working temporary test account, and the ISP's tech personnel are trying to figure out what went wrong with my original account.

Of course I am very curious about what they will find out - I will keep you posted.
