kaattakilla
Ok im here cuz after 30 minutes of trying to figure out how to post a new threat @ microsofts forums, i screamed, killed a pet, and searched for some place else to gripe.every time i tried to follow it's faq, i was forwareded to my live profile, instead of being able to open a thread. My original reason to be LF forums was cuz after 6 hours of building a playlist, out of my 48,000 songs, my wmp12 crashed. Im absolutely so furious over this, im seriously considering going linux as my coworkers have suggested. I work in computer sales/repair and i think its about time I stop supporting microsoft. this is outrageous. Does microsoft intentionally make everything they touch as difficult as possible? Like everything involving them has to have a run-around.Oh and i had intended to post a bug/issue ive noticed about switching from video to music in wmp library, going between the 2 can cause the program to stop responding for between 2-5 full minutes (usually going from video to music)im just disgusted w/ today's experiences in win7
-pops-
Oh!I've had no problems in the numerous copies of W7 that I've installed.Something I've learned over many years with computers is to back up - often. This applies particularly with the written word and when compiling lists (as you are doing). Most word processing programs will automatically back up work every few minutes during writing. Other software may not - that is why I use a program such as 2nd Copy http://www.secondcopy.com/index.htmlI've used it for many years and it has been a saviour a number of times. andsome
If Microsoft Windows is as bad as you imply then NO ONE would be using it. It MUST be something that you are doing or running on the computer. Sorry I am not skilled enough to advise a solution. Personally my short experience of Windows 7 so far is that it definitely the best, even better than XP. :D :D

Hb_Kai
Sounds like it could be loading too much data for it to handle. WMP being quite possibly, the worst media player to handle data, I'd recommend searching round for alternatives if this continues, unless you want to get so irritated that you put Windows 7 in its rightful place in a hole in the ground :)48, 000 songs is a little excessive though, I wouldn't be surprised if any media player wouldn't crash with that amount. Here's a question though, does it crash and the process just hangs or does it crash then close itself? And another thing, were you running any other programs at the same time?If you try it again, make sure there is nothing else running, even in the back ground and another thing will depend on how the software crashes.
