All she wants is to be able to Access the net, type the odd letter and view e-mails. I've created the account for her but the desktop is identical to mine, as administrator shows all the short cuts. Created a new account for Missus and low and behold her desktop shows a minimum number of icons, just Open Office Firefox and Thunderbird and a couple of others; just what she needs. Never bothered before because it used to take so long to switch from one account to another. This Win 7 x 64 seems to be lightening fast. All she wants is for her desktop to the absolute minimum number of icons. All she wants is to go onto the net for shopping, knock out the odd letter and e-mails. Anyway I have suggested that she have a laptop then she could go on the net whenever she wanted to. But that's ruled out she couldn't handle the small keyboard. andsome Posted December 15, 2009 Report Share Posted December 15, 2009 An easy way out Doug without separate accounts. Create a new folder and call it My icons.
