ERUNT and Windows 7

P.S. I find ERUNT useful if I just quickly want to backup the registry. Of course, we retired people have all the time in the world (?), so doing a full Acronis backup may achieve the same. But if you're in a hurry and just want to backup the registry, ERUNT is the one to use. :flowers:

I used it on my previous XP computer after seeing it recommended by Pat quite some time ago.

The settings allowed for a registry backup to be taken each morning on boot-up. It was very quick (and unnoticeable) and I always felt secure that in the event of a registry problem, I had a backup which was no more than one day old.

Thanks for the page link, Pat. It seems that it's not quite there, but I will certainly check from time to time and will install it when it has been developed to accommodate Win7.

ERUNT works fine with my Windows 7 Irene.

We all use our computers for different purposes, and in different ways.

I use Acronis, Returnil Virtual System, and ERUNT, along with other various similar softwares.

I test software, and I also Beta test software. This is a "Hobby" type thing rather than a career use of the computer.

Also of course the computers get the usual, and more normal family usage.

Acronis would be far too slow for me to be able to get back to a previous registry setting, and uninstallers like Revo Uninstaller although excellent, do not always give a 100% previous registry. ERUNT will give me a previous registry much faster than my beloved Acronis. It is therefore pretty pointless trying to convice me that ERUNT is "A waste of time" because other than recognising it as a useful, and well thought out tool, I am using it for a specific purpose. -

- Perhaps other people are doing just the same ? I know lots who do.

Would I recommend anyone installing ERUNT ? Yes because I can see no reason not to adopt the same"Belt and Braces" attitude towards computing that would be accepted as commonplace in others areas of life. ERUNT is "Free" , and will automatically backup your registry on a daily basis, and use very few resources. ERUNT will not mess with your registry, and is not to be confused with "Registry Cleaners."

ERUNT is a Registry Backup Tool.
