AlanHo
I wanted to send an Email to friends about our holiday and tried to take a short cut by copying and pasting the text from one of my posts into an Outlook Email. When the text was pasted it was gibberish - being all mixed up with some sentences literally reversed, letter by letter.Pasting into MS Word produced the same result.Copying and pasting text from other members posts produced the same gibberish result. If I then copy and paste the gibberish text back into a new forum post - it reverts back to what it should be..............................it really is most odd.Thinking that it might be a problem with my computer I have tried copying and pasting text from several other forums - but it works fine. The problem is confined to the Windows forum so far as I can see.In order to copy from this forum I opened one of my posts and clicked on the "Edit" button - then copied the text from the edit window which pasted into Outlook or Word without a problem. What on earth is going on......is it something to do with the HTML code or what........................?????(I tried to paste a sample of the gibberish from Word - but it kept reverting to the correct text when I paste it). AlanHo
I know this is going to fuel the preaching from Firefox fans - but I just tried opening the forum with Mozilla Firefox, copied some text and pasted into Word without a problem. AlanHo
Sorry to harp on about this problem - but I am still seeking a solution.I tried using my wife's Windows 7 computer and met with exactly the same problem - hence it is not confined to my computer. My Netbook computer - using Windows XP - and connected by wireless to my cable internet works fine.I asked a friend (who also uses Windows 7 and IE8) to access the forum and copy/paste some text. He reports the same problem as me. At my request as a double check he also tried to copy/paste text from other forums and found it OK.If no-one here can suggest a solution, perhaps you can point me in the direction of where one can be found. I have Googled for info without success.

As me and Irene have been able to do it in W7 would I would think rule out something directly related to W7, though the office thing is baffling

As me and Irene have been able to do it in W7 would I would think rule out something directly related to W7, though the office thing is bafflingMy friend bought his computer ready loaded with Win7 and MS Office (and Norton!!!!). He has not fiddled with any settings - he wouldn't have a clue how to.I built my computer, and my wife's and loaded both with Win7 Home Premium 32 bit plus Office 2007. Both use default settings - nothing special. Both have an identical problem with this forum - even the gibberish is word for word identical. You may recall (andsome will) that when I cut and paste text from Word for my daily "Thought for today" that sometimes - but not always - some strange code is appended to the text which I have to edit out after posting. I wonder if the problems are connected in some way.I have taken a good look at my Forum profile to see if there are any settings there that could be responsible - but cannot see anything relevant.Beam me up Scotty - I'm lost down here...... Irene
I have just got the same result as you Alan...This time I accessed the forum - through IE8 version 8.0.7600.16385 - did a copy from your last post and pasted it into a new mail in Outlook 2007. ABSOLUTE GIBBERISH, as you said.Must be something to do with IE8 - or did you say that you are on IE7?

I am now convinced it is something to do with the HTML code for the forum being in some way incompatible with IE8 and/or Windows 7 - both of which my wife and I use. At first I wondered if it was because you have 32bit Win7 and I have 64bit. Very strange behaviour.
