the dynamic link library POWRPROF.dll."

and then "Windows Explorer has stopped working" and "Windows Explorer is restarting.." window

keeps apearing and apearing again and again and again..

What seems to be the problem? is there a problem with my windows ( Vista Home Basic )?

or is there any virus? coz i've already updated and scanned my anti virus.

PCMService.exe is part of Dell's Cyberlink Power Cinema software, if you don't use it, remove it using programs and features in control panel.

If you do use it, you could try re-installing or repairing the program that is the cause of the problem. Most likely it will be on one of the disks that came with the computer.

Do I understand correctly - you cannot start Windows completely?

If so, please start Windows in Safe Mode, then run MSCONFIG, select the Startup tab, and check if you have that PCMService.exe somewhere in the startup list. If so, disable it.

If not, start services.msc and see if it is in there. If so, disable it.

If not, please report again.

I assume that this is a laptop ?

You could try uninstalling Dell Mediadirect - which is Dell's own application to enable you to watch DVD movies, slideshows, or listen to music.

It would seem that -pops- was right...

Take a look HERE where an identical problem was solved.

The fifth post in that thread gives the same advice as I gave. This appeared to have solved the original poster's problem :)

thanks so much for your advices guys..

i don't have a problem with PCMService.exe coz i can just exit or ignore

the window but the "Windows Explorer has stopped working" and the "Windows Explorer is restarting" window

keeps apeearing. So if i still did not uninstall the Dell Media direct, the "Windows Explorer has stopped working" and the "Windows Explorer is restarting" still keeps appearing? so, i really need to uninstall Dell Media Direct?

because i'm using my Media Direct and i misplaced my cd :(

please help..

thank you guys
