Shijo Posted August 31, 2010 Report Share Posted August 31, 2010 Hi friendI have an issue with my 8GB pendrive. Once I connect the pendrive to my system it prompt to format the drive. But if I try to format it says write protectedTry to format from DOS but same. In device manager it shows the file system is RAW. I try to format through windows OS CD but unable to formatIs there any way to convert this to ntfs or fat32. I tried CONVERT X: /FS:NTFS but it shows unable to format RAW file system. It is essential always to disconnect any writable device from USB using the proper disconnect facility.It means really that the drive should be consigned to the rubbish bin. That may well be true but USB is certainly not hot unpluggable. It is vital that USB devices with any read/write capability are disconnected using the Safely Disconnect facility available.
