KairosDrasis
Hello all! I have the problem that when I stick my flash drive/hook up my camera into other computers, autorun/Autoplay goes off and it drives me crazy. I had various computers start going through all my files and sometimes pulling up personal pictures. Is there a way to disable autorun/autoplay from the usb device. Obviously I've disabled it on my home computer, but I can't disable it for every computer I come across (especially those locked down library computers) I tried looking though the autorun.inf settings but I didn't find anything. Any ideas? Thanks,Kairos
-pops-
I doubt that you can do this. Autoplay is a function of the computer, not the peripherals that may be plugged into it.I also think you would not be popular making unauthorised changes to computers that are not your own. Dencandy
I'm sure -pops- is right on both counts. Immation make USB drives with a secure zone but they can malfunction resulting in the secure files becoming inaccessible. The best solution is not to mix personal & public files on the same USB drive.

I was just hoping that there would be something I could put in the autorun.inf file that would disable it altogether for my flash drive only. Also like Dencandy said, I rather not encrpyt it not just because of chance of malfunction, but also just the shear hassle.Thanks,KairosP.S. Or if there is a way to disable this for something like picasa and other image software. Just like how some websites have robot.txt to disable certin bots from crawling there website.
