Glenvern
I have just recently moved from Vista to 7 and I used to be able to drag icons to the Task Barbut 7 gives me a 'No Entry' sign and doesn't allow me to place them on the Task Bar. I know you should be able to drag them on. does anyone know how to remedy this problem please.thanx..

doug
If you right click on an empty space on the Taskbar it should bring up a dialogue panel showing the options for the TB. Un tick the "lock the Taskbar" Drag whatever you want there the go back and tick the "Lock the Taskbar". Should do what you want.

Is there a limit of how many icons you can have on the TB? (I have 18).On Vista you could have as many as you liked, once you reached the end of the row you got a pop up menu with the remainder listed. It still adds icons to the TB when I open a program butget removed when I close them, so the 18 limit shouldn't apply I would think. Alan2273
Click Start, All programs, find the program you want to send to the taskbar, right click on the program, from the drop down menu select Pin to Taskbar.
Glenvern
Click Start, All programs, find the program you want to send to the taskbar, right click on the program, from the drop down menu select Pin to Taskbar.Hi Tried that, didn't work - the icons I am trying to put on the task bar are admin type icons.I was trying to put the Control Panel icon on, I had it on when I first started but it gotremoved for some reason or other and I can't get it back on, also trying to get my homemadeshutdown button on there, that was also on but got removed.Clicking the Start then the icon I want on the TB just got me 'Open', 'Run as Administrator', 'Remove'and 'Properties' no facility to pin anywhere. Tried that and it shows three collumns of system and admin titles. I check the ones I would like but the "Add Item" button remains grayed out.
