Offsite I.T
Mac's are not immune to malware. It's just that there is more people that use the windows OS. Which obviously attracts hackers a lot more.
Gandalph
These figures have been bounced around for a couple of Month's now.First it was 600,000 then it was down to 150,000 then 50,000 then back up to 400,000. All in all just a load of rubbish. Yes there is malware. If you visit porn sites , or similar, and download software you really shouldn't then there is a risk that you could pick up a trojan, although these are very few and far between. Pier to Pier being the biggest threat.I am a member of a Macintosh Forum, based in the USA, which I visit daily and it has thousands of members and no one has ever had a Virus or trojan or any malware as non exist in the wild. They in turn have friends with Mac Computers and they don't know of anybody that has had any Virus or Trojan or Malware. For that article to report that "more than half that number are based in the US" is rubbish. Gandalph
Malware can bite me. :lol:Apologies, ladies and gents. You wouldn't say that if you had been bitten on the bum by one. Very painful. You have to have a series of seven inoculations in three weeks to kill any bacteria in the wound.
bludgard
Man, I have been bitten by more exotic bugs than malware. :0I learned how to bite back. Gives an edge in a tight situation....Still; you are right in alluding to the idea that one rarely walks away from a bad bite without some damage done. A literal "pain-in-the-ass" as they say over here.By the way:Hows the weather, bro?
bludgard
To stay on topic:I believe that nothing is safe. The cost of MAC products should have targeted malware long ago (Ogre thinking.... ).Buying a Mercedez may be easy: Can the maintenece be afforded?
