Craig
Morning,With regards to the 'Account Suspended' message received Friday night into Saturday morning, this was due to the forum consuming a large quantity of server CPU. The server automatically suspended Windows Forum in order to protect other accounts hosted on the server. The host and I have been unable to determine the exact cause, other than being made aware something PHP related was causing the issue (with the forum being PHP based, it will be difficult to identify the exact cause). I cannot guarantee it won’t happen again, however we are monitoring the situation.Craig
-pops-
There have been a number of strange spam posts recently including DVD converters, handbags and Canadian pharmacy.Perhaps one or more of these gummed up the works.
Gandalph
There have been a number of strange spam posts recently including DVD converters, handbags and Canadian pharmacy.Perhaps one or more of these gummed up the works.I also noticed those before the 'Account Suspended" notice appeared where the Home Page was supposed to be on Friday night into early Saturday morning. There must have been at least a dozen spam's for the Canadian Pharmacy. It was literally minutes after I noticed them that the "Account Suspended" notice came up. Craig
Yes, that makes sense. I assumed I had annoyed several spammers by removing their posts, and they retaliated with a denial of service attack. We brought the site online just before midnight on Friday, but it shortly disappeared again. Saturday morning was a close call; for a few hours the load on the server was high, but come midday activity ceased.I've just finished upgrading the registration spam module, so hopefully that will assist in reducing numbers of spammers. doug
Explains my frustrations at deleting the spammers when the curtain dropped. Was well into killing the pharmacy spammers when bingo!
