Boris
I use the free MozBackup from http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/ to back up my Thunderbird + Firefox. It lets you backup/restore your bookmarks, mail, contacts, history, extensions, passwords, cache etc.

The person who replied to you was a spammer who, due to the diligence of the moderators, was prevented from making any further posts advertising their dubious merchandise. -pops-
You should be OK. These people are usually sellers, not criminals.
