Irene
I have been (and again today) experiencing a very strange, spasmodic, recurring security alert: dub406-m.hotmail.comIt usually takes the broadband connection down eventually. It has occurred three or four times during the past four months. I am just hoping that it doesn't pop up again and take the broadband down, which involves a considerable time taking to the BT call centre in India - extremely frustrating! Here are some 'snipping tool' clips of the alert:I have 'installed' the certificate on a previous occasion and again this morning and had a successfully installed dialogue pop-up.Does anyone have any idea what it might be? BTW: I do not use any hotmail at all.
Boris
Sorry Irene - never seen this before. I do use Hotmail (now Outlook), but am not a BT broadband user.
-pops-
There is some Google stuff about this but I can't really follow it.
Irene
Thank you both, Boris and -pops-, for replying.I also posted a similar thread onto the BT forum. I received some interesting replies...Here: https://community.bt.com/t5/Other-Broadband-Queries/Security-Certificate-Alert-which-seems-to-preceed-Broadband/td-p/1151392
bludgard
All I can interject is that most cert errors that I have met with were corrected with time sync; unless it were malware related. Then I just run for the door! lol
