Belatucadrus
Just seen the commonwealth games closing ceremony and it was as cheap and nasty as the opening ceremony right up to the point where the Australians arrived for the handover. Classy profesional and dare I say for a non Kylie person rather entertaining. So Glasgow for the sport 10 / 10The ceremonies Urm perhaps the less said the better. Gandalph
Well I'm with you on that one. I started to watch it at nine o'clock and thought what the hell is going on here. People waving tents around and all the athletes just wandering around taking Selfies. Then I switched it off after twenty minutes.
Belatucadrus
If anybody knows what the tent waving was about please do tell, if symbolic I didn't get it, if artistic or entertaining then a miserable flop.
Gandalph
I'll ask around locally, me being in Scotland. If I can get an answer I'll post back on that one. I would like to know myself.
Gandalph
No Joy! I've been asking around both here and up in the Town and people haven't got a clue what it was all about. I think somebody must be in the Free Masons and got a good deal on tents. :(
-pops-
Perhaps they got a good deal with Blacks Camping - who used to be Scottish, even if not now.
Belatucadrus
Apparently it's to celebrate the signals sent to William Wallace by Flora Mcdonald after the battle of Buttochburn, she used their illicit nookie tent as in improvised semaphore signal and advised him not to eat the Tunnochs teacakes as Bonnie prince Charley and Robert the Bruce had burnt them when dismayed by the sight of John Barrowman pursuing a trooserless Donald Trump at Gleneagles. Unless anybody knows otherwise. Soon to be posted on Wikipedia as a true fact, honest !
