cinque8
Hi, I have a HP computer running Windows Vista. I have 3 video players on my computer: Realplayer, Windows Media Player, and VideoBuzz. My video players will play videos that I have stored on my hardrive with no problem. But when I insert a DVD into my DVD player I get and error message that says that the DVD cannot be played and that I should try to adjust the display settings in the Control Panel. I can't find Display Settings in the control panel. Also I noticed that when I insert the DVD into the drive, the light on the outside of the drive does not come on.Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
Belatucadrus
Sounds like a hardware issue, try running a cleaning CD/DVD, but I have to say my success with getting DVD players back on their feet once they begin to fail is limited. You may end up having to get a new DVD unit fitted.

Boris
Also check that the cable connecting the DVD unit to the motherboard hasn't become loose/detached
