"I've had this brilliant idea , do you suppose we could sell him on the old Japanese practise of Sokushibutsu or Pre Mortem Mummification ? "

It is much too complicated for him to do it, but he could probably by now afford to "get a man in" to do it for him.

The Wikipedia article was a bit dry and lacking in detail, here's a more comprehensive one that will explains why I feel it would be so appropriate for the ex PM.

The monks who mummified themselves (including Tetsumonkai) considered their death an act of redemption

As an act of redemption it would be almost though not quite enough, certainly a good start.

If the monks become mummies, would the nuns become daddies and the deceased of Middlesex become fairies?

See you aren't confused at all that's absolutely correct.

It should be noted that the highest concentration of Buddhist saints anywhere in the world who have attained Nirvana due to self preservation occurs in Scotland where instead of toxic tea, pine needles and abstinence they use a high fat diet consisting largely of chips combined with internal pickling using a secret combination known only to everybody of Irn-Bru, Buckie and Glenfiddich.

One learns something new every day.

I thought Buckie and Glen Fiddich were brothers who played the bagpipes whilst eating home grown porridge sandwiches.

I had also  thought that they had a porridge foundry hidden away in one of the Care Gorms.
