If he's dead he can't abdicate so it's not an issue and surely it would be rather late to consider it if he wasn't alive. The post mortem cogitations of people generally remain a mystery, If we get to the situation where we know with any degree of surety what people are mulling over after they've died most world religions will be obsolete.
