Burns Night

Today is the anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns - Scotland's great poet. It's therefore Burns Night tonight. I'm not a Scot but I am a fan of this genius.

His poetry is Scotland's second greatest export, the first being whisky (some say Lulu is the third greatest export but that's debatable). ;)

So drink a toast to Robert tonight - whisky of course! (and take the time to read some of his poetry).

He seems to have gone North of the Border after seeing your post ! Well living in Newcastle its quite near ?

Speaking personally I cannot stand any of Robert Burns stuff - but every one to his own taste and have a good night!

I do like a nice malt tho !

Nite.

I was at a burns supper and celebrated into the weesmaoors, suffering a large hangover this morning, that haggis is a killer  while there I also met that great Scottish freedom fighter hawkeye the gnu :D

anyway I'm away to be sick now

yeah, if you're scottish!

I like da whisky too.... and they're always burning things round here, so they must be fans of Robbies poetry too, cars usually (that get burned).

I don't think any offence is intended, Ranger. I wouldn't worry about it anyway. :D

Those of us who are interested in such things know that Scotland has a proud cultural tradition and has at times led these islands. Other than for the Arts and Sciences generally, the people of Great Britain have good reason to be grateful for the fine Scottish medical schools which have resulted in untold good in the field of medicine.
