moon
is it possible to buy a cable instead of adaptor and take the case one out and fit a new one from the mobo to case, had a look on google for adapters but not much luck.At first glance it seems that I'd just have to unsolder the existing front Firewire cable from the front control assembly. It's a tasty ol' cable though, way fatter than the rear one supplied with the mobo. The solder goblets are tasty too and I'd have to use quite a hot iron. I'd be a bit worried that I'd melt joints inside that I can't see.

moon
Yep. Apparently, the @BIOS function is a definite bummer. I don't profess to know what I'm going to do with it yet but it's nice to have it in the box. :)
moon
Here I go, chaps, fitting the XP 2700, complete with AMD- supplied heatsink and fan. What's the best method, using the recommended AMD tape or the Antec Silver Thermal Compound ? I don't want to get this wrong. :D
Guest ellas
use the pad on the heatsink, amd only recommend paste if its going to be used for testing purposes and your going to taking the h/sink on and off.
