Guest Drovers Dog
:P I had a beauty, firstly I was supposed to have won $25,000 just return the Certificate!!I did that but diddn't send the enrollment Fee of $39-00. (The fine print said I diddn't have to purchase anything) BTW they spelled my name wrong! Two weeks later, by mail, I received notification that I had either won a New Car, Gold Bullion to the Value of $10,000 or a Cheque for $850.00, which I totally ignored! One week later I was notified by mail, that I had actually won a Cheque for $850.00!! I ignored that one to because both of them were addressed to the same mispelled name, and all wanted a $39.00 enrollment Fee!Two weeks later I got a Letter, addressed to the mispelled name from a supposed Psyshic, wanting me to send a $39.00 enrollment Fee so She could help me win Lotto!! She said that I had won!! $25,000, and had an oppertunity to win either a new car, or Gold Bullion to the value of $10,000, or a cheque for $850,00, and that I had actually won a cheque for $850.00 and was she right in her prediction??Hope the Postage teaches them a lesson!!! :innocent: :shifty:

andsome
Long standing members of this forum will no doubt remember the nice Nigerian gentleman who wrote to me last year. I supplied him with my bank details as requested, and he paid in approximately £32, 467,978. With the wealth that I obtained I was able to make a nice donation of £4.54 to a local charity. Not all these schemes are scams as you can see. NO begging letters please.

-pops-
I am always mystified why they can't get the administration/registration fees on account from the vast fortune that is waiting there. After all the amount asked for is peanuts compared with the full value of the prize/hidden cash.I did read recently that the 419 (Nigerian) scammers are falling on hard times as too many people are wise to their subterfuge. Perhaps we should set up a benefit fund for them ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

andsome
Late last night, a little after eleven, a mod made a posting attacking me on this topic. He indicated that some forum members would be daft enough to take me seriously, and answer one of these scams. I know that some people may have seen this posting. This person, unfortunately has attacked me previously in the past, and in fact organised a petition to remove me from the forum, because he did not like the fact that periodically I draw attention to my extreme good looks. I admit that I rose to the bait and posted an answer to this attack. Another mod, who will also remain nameless, has removed both postings. After MUCH thought I have decided to make this further posting to draw attention to the fact that I seriously believe that NO ONE takes me seriously except in postings on serious forums, such as help, or debates etc. I have on one occasion only, to my knowledge, actually caused offence by a thoughtless remark, and I know that the person concerned accepted my sincere apology. I am quite happy to be the ‘Aunt Sally’ as often as everyone wants, and I do deliberately go out of my way to give you all the chance to knock me off my perch. I hope that the vast majority of you will carry on having a laugh at my expense, and rest assured that I do not mind at all, but welcome it, as it keeps this sort of forum light hearted. Meantime if anyone IS actually upset by anything that I say, please let me know, and give me the chance to make amends. Please let’s not make offensive comments to each other, that’s not what the forum is about. I hope that the person concerned will lighten up a little in future and not get personal. I also hope that the second mod in question will allow this posting to remain, and give you all the chance to let me know if I have indeed upset anyone, or caused anyone to give their bank details to a 'nice Nigerian gentleman'. bvw
andsome. We must remember this forum can, and is, viewed by anyone, not just the members. Anyone can come here and view the site and the postings.Whilst we, the members, know you well and you always make us smile and give us many a laugh or two, anyone visiting the forum would not know you and could, just possibly, take your Nigerian scam posting as genuine. We are all internet "savvy" in here and know most of the pitfalls etc but a visitor may not be quite so educated as ourselves and may well believe you did in fact receive those millions. If your post lead them to take the bait it would be a sad day......and andsome, we don't laugh at you.....only with you. You cheer up many a dull day my friend. andsome
bvwI take your point, but there was no need for anyone to make an attack. As I said, it is not the first time this person has acted in this aggressive manner. Had it been pointed out to me in a PM or even a polite posting there would be no problem. As I said, I do not normally take any offence at all, and no one need ever be afraid to say what they like about me, or call me what they like, as long as it is in the same vein as I hand out. I just know that having looked at the time of several postings in various forums, several people would possibly have seen this attack. We can all take the Micky out of each other as much as we like, (I hope), as long as no malice is meant.
