Andy-2004 Posted February 20, 2004 Report Share Posted February 20, 2004 ok...here we go... :o :mellow: a while ago in Pc extreme mag i read an article about turning an old scrap heap of a PC into a fire wall (smoothwall)at the time i just thought..nahhhbut now my sis who was stuck with the old "family" Pc...u know 32Mb ram and all that ...might be getting a shiny new PC(she hopes)So there now i just though...hey i wonder if i could do that thing with the thingies?so i dug out the old mag and had a read...seams possible...so i asked my m8 on msn about it...i asked if i could get lunix for free and he said yes but he then said Ross says:u meanRoss says:you'd be prepared to code your own drivers for your hardware, because linux doesn't supply any.personally i dont know what that means...and afer i asked him what it mean he just got a bit cheaky and stoped talkingso this is where you guys come inwww.smoothwall.org <the suport siteP.s the reason it says u need linux is smoothwall is a linux based programme so if your a windows only person you're going to have to expand your horizonsthats all i can think of for nowplease ask for more inforegards andy-2004 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
