Andy-2004
Blink 182 fan was switching his upstairs and downstairs computers....(reason undisclosed)Any way....he was installing stuff...first of all the modem drivers...then all the windows updates....then he started to install his copy of Norton AV....During the installation he was given a message by reg protect says a new HBO has been added to the registry - keep HBO or - Remove HBOBlink accidentally hit DELETE the computer froze out and he had to reboot....now he can no longer access the Internet and can find no place to uninstall Norton AV (i.e Add and remove programs)He has tried to delete the folder in Program Files but this was to no effect because when he tries to reinstall Norton he is given a message say "MSI needs to be launched through this setup"then he press OK (the only button there) and the setup closes itself...he then tries to restart the installation and he gets a message saying "a previous installation has been found...please restart your computer"This happens every time....Any ideas?Andy-2004

mark2
Possibly it will be simpler and more reliable to start again in this case. :censored: :censored:

nellie2
Well I always try to deal with one problem at a time Andy... as far as the internet thing goes... it may be a good idea to shove the windows disk in the drive and go to start>run and type sfc /scannowIf there are any system files missing or corrupt that will sort it. I hope
