Rebel=UK=
Dionaea muscipula (Venus Fly Trap) ive had one of these for about ooo must be about 5 years now, and its till going strong. Ive just seen it for the first time "catch" a fly i was well impressed. I often squash a fly and feed it to the plant its well impresive watching the traps close shut on it. Its even better when they open back up and all thats left is a dry fly. I have taken some pics ill post them once im sorted back out

Agent Smith
 :D :P I used to keep these when I was younger.Andsome, I think the secret is to feed them live food. Whenever I gave them bits of meat, or dead flies, the flowerhead (or whatever it's called) would always die.Eventually, I kept several plants in an old fishtank, along with some sundew plants. I would then get hold of 20 to 30 maggots from a local fishing shop, which I would allow to turn to castors. You then put the castors in the tank with the plants, and as they hatch into flies, they get consumed fairly rapidly by the plants (don't forget to get a lid for the tank  ). Once I started doing this, i had no problems at all with the plants.Mr. M.

prctr
That is a most impressive specimen of Dionaea muscipula (Venus Fly Trap) !!!I believe Cesar Franck kept those as well, up until the day that he suddenly and inexplicably began walking backward. Not sure of what feeding methods he used. Alas, records weren't kept. :D :P
