Chris
Let's say you've just installed Windows, what are the tasks that you do do? For example do you install AntiVirus or do you leave it for later on?Do you disable your screensaver? What do you do after you've installed Windows?List them so people can follow, or at least get an idea on what to do...if they need a bit of advice, this is the topic. djohn
This is how I set up mine last year.Load O/S XP Pro. tune to my liking then do a defrag.Install Image DI7Load all drivers for hardware-defrag.load Office-Publisher and set up to my liking-defragLoad other software-defrag.Install AVG and other spyware applications .Install broadband modem. Set up connection with Explorer, Outlook and express.Fine tune all applications/settings for monitor/printer/scanner.Delete any temp files and defrag then final Image of drive to the slave drive. I keep that Image in a folder ready for use if needed, I do a seperate image of the system as it then is to the slave drive and that becomes my backup folder for weekly backups.[Edit] PS: That took about 6-8 hours to do with coffee breaks in between but should disaster strike now I think I will be able to re-install from either backup in 10-20 minutes without needing any extra input from me.
Bruce
Let's say you've just installed Windows, what are the tasks that you do do?I always do dumb stuff when drunk. So if windows got installed somehow, I drink some coffee to sober up. I then put my SuSE CD in and install an "operating" system.
