trackrat Posted July 18, 2004 Report Share Posted July 18, 2004 It is possible that even if you use the same make as your origonal ram that they will not work together.Because manufacturers make slight alterations too the ram every so often, it is much better to buy them both at the same time.But I know of a computer that has been running for over a year with a 512 samsung stick and a 512 crucial stick so I guess it is just down to luck. So get the same kind.Can't get PC2700 133MHzPC2700 means that the RAM will work at 166MHz (DDR 333).. it's a Standard.PC2700 ram however can operate at lesser frequencies.. like 133MHz is required.. like when using a RATIO in the BIOS.. like 5:4 etc.Alan.. try and get a memory module like the one you have already.
