pc 2700 166Mhz Ram

Recommended Posts

It is possible that even if you use the same make as your origonal ram that they will not work together.

Because manufacturers make slight alterations too the ram every so often, it is much better to buy them both at the same time.

But I know of a computer that has been running for over a year with a 512 samsung stick and a 512 crucial stick so I guess it is just down to luck.

If possible make it the exact same as you have now. If you have no choice, the same clock speed is crucial. If you get PC2700 133Mhz, your RAM you have now may function at 133mhz as well. So get the same kind.

Can't get PC2700 133MHz

PC2700 means that the RAM will work at 166MHz (DDR 333).. it's a Standard.

PC2700 ram however can operate at lesser frequencies.. like 133MHz is required.. like when using a RATIO in the BIOS.. like 5:4 etc.

Alan.. try and get a memory module like the one you have already. Other brands will/may work but try to get one like the one you have already.

The ram is standard and unlabled, so i dont think gettting the same make is possible.

but i think il go for another stick of pc2700 512MB and see what happens
