Hmm New Version of Ad-Aware

I use A2 and Spybot S & D as well as Adaware. I have on a couple of occasions run a scan in all three without removing objects found by Adaware. The other two programs did not find these objects. Why do I need to bother with anything except Adaware? Every other day or so Adaware finds tracking cookies that the other two fail to find.

Because you are wise when it comes to safe web surfing.

If you visit porn sites and the like, warez and all the "other" naughty stuff you'll probably find you'll have all sorts on your computer.

If you scan with spybot first it would probably find cookies and as you deleted them adaware would not find them and visa versa. Tracking cookies........ not even worth worrying about.

If you ever become infected adaware might find the infection whereas spybot might not and visa versa.

A scan once a week of both is more than sufficent.

I fully intend to keep them both plus Spyware Blaster.  I am just puzzled by the fact that if I do not delete anything that Adaware find, Spybot doe not find it.

They both won't find the samethings as they detect different different things.

I have pruned this thread to remove some potentially misleading links.

There is nothing wrong with the links to the producers of AdAware, as given by cozofdeath. Links to independent uploaders are unnecessary.
