Tankus Posted September 26, 2004 Report Share Posted September 26, 2004 I just had a look through some old posts but I could not find it either ......search does not appear to be working I ran a ram drive for about 3 months .....my comp just ripped along ....however system restore does not work ....and it does not create restore points .... I ran in to a problem over something else ,causing my comp to become very unstable ....without restore , it turned out to be a real mission to get my comp back up and running .....In the end ...I did not think it worth the risk, for the gains in performance ....no more ram drive ....... nellie2 Posted September 26, 2004 Report Share Posted September 26, 2004 It isn't that you can't search it is just that you are doing it wrong and the XP skin isn't giving you the right error message.If one of your words is only three letters long it won't do the search. So if you search for ram drive the xp skin asks you to put your user name in etc... even though you are still logged in. (a bug)but if you search for ramdrive you will find the search goes ok.
