Sitting here ..nice glass of Dow's Christmas port ...... Having some Jacobs crackers with Caerphilly (my teenage years spent here ...bit of nostalgia ) cheese ......except the cheese, even though it has a Welsh flag on it ...its yellow ...not white ...It barley crumbles ...not dry ..almost close to a cheddar ....then on the back ..it sez ...produced in Leeds for Asda ..so ..why does it say "Caerphilly " ...should say done in the vague processed style of ..and you are too much of a cheapskate to be able to tell the difference ...or pay the money to get the difference .......

I said this post was boring .......

But I'm mildly irritated .....

Its like buying a Guinness ...and getting an effin coke .... its still dark and fizzy ...but the essential ingredient is missing ..and it tastes nothing like ....

honest labelling ...thats what I say

I feel a political rant coming on ...but I'm under a restraining order ....So I'm going to stick some blackcurrant jam on it ...which will mask the taste ...and have another glass ........

Its got to be bland and insipid .... I guess ..so nobody complains .... cheap food for dull senses ......

I'm part of the problem ....

Ports splendid though ....'cause Its Portuguese ........ they dont give as much of a monkeys for the processing of the stuff ...just the result ....

thats why in their supermarkets ...their deli's and fresh sections are bigger than the tinned and ready meal section ... in the UK .... Tesco's Asda's

Sort of sez a lot ......And its not just a question of the food going off in a warm climate ....If anything ...they should have more tinned stuff than us ...!

are we being accustomed to accepting blandness ( or even trained ...?....pablovian response to the bell of profit ...?)

Think Ill bin the rest of the cheese .... or perhaps a welsh-rarebit with some raw onion and Worcester sauce..on top ...no point in eating it on its own ...as there is no pleasure .......

wheres my glass ....!

Funny you should say that, a colleague brought back some Genuine Scottish Shortbread from thier hols to Scotland, and when we look closer it was actually made in Wrexham... or somewhere like that.

Nothing wrong with Wrexham, but how can it be the genuine Scottish stuff if it is made in Wales?
