doug
I think that Canny can mean anything. When I transferred with Plessey to the factory in South Shields to build the Printed Circuit Plant (27 years ago) we Had a Swedish engineer resident for a 3 month stint while they installed some of the plating lines. At the end of his stint I clearly remember him saying to one of our local Geogie engineers that he had finally decided just that. This georgie engineer was always using that phrase and the Swedish chap had carefully analysed every context in which he had used the word. Hope this helps. I used to sell roller brushes for use on de-burring printed circuit boards.
doug
They could be a nightmare, especially if maintenance put them in back to front, i.e. with the knap going the wrong way. "What's yer problem They rub don't they?" Then I'd have to devise a method of shifting all the c**p out of the holes. Ultrasonics, alkaline permanganate followed by hydrogen peroxide. In hindsight it was a hectic learning time.

The brush was made as a continuous strip brush, spirally would onto a shaft. There was none of the shedding problems associated with Scotchbrite. This is a sample from the German parent company. My involement goes back nearly 40 years off and on.I don't know much about printed circuit boards. Surface finishing was my topic. I just had to decide in the case of printed circuit boards, what was the appropriate product to satisfactorily de-burr a particular board.
