UK warnings of severe weather

It sounded like there was a fair bit of wind and rain in Cheltenham last night. However, it is always a bit deceptive because I live in a 4th floor flat with Velux windows and skylights. Even the lightest bit of drizzle can sound like a downpour. On waking this morning decided it sounded bad enough to stay in bed...only to get up a couple of hours later to find it nice and sunny...if still a tad windy.

Wow the difference a few hundred or so miles makes, where i am in Germany it is lovley at the moment, Sunny @15°C with a slight breeze.

But what England gets we normally get 24-48 hours later :(

Severe wind here... my window kept opening in the night, but I fixed it shut with a paperclip about half past four and it's stayed shut since.

I didn't realise you were an engineer expertec. :D

I told wifey to move her car another six foot further away from the house yesterday, as high winds tend to throw the chippings off the garage roof. It's a good job she did as we had five pieces of 2x4 inches of cement on the drive from next doors gable end. Only one piece scratched the front of the bonnet (or hood), so now I'll be able to try out that repair kit I bought from the shopping channel. :D
