doug
No it's not a bug. It's a unique feature of this forum. It's like your very own badge of honour and is related to the number of postings you have made. It's not a license to spam though.
homecomputeraid
The more posts you make on the forum, the newer the OS that appears next to your name.
winzpan
WOW, that sure comes as a surprise.I was so certain of the all important necessity to always keep in mind the members OS in order to better help them. Thanks for settling the matter.Where do I find this type of info?I didn't find this info yet in the HELP section. nellie2
Well there is this but it is a bit basic and doesn't mention the member title.Anyway... it gives us something to talk about. If it bugs you I can always change it to something a bit more individual if you like
homecomputeraid
I asked the same question after I joined. :) Couldn't figure out how to change that OS under my name!

andsome
I've always thought that this system was misleading. I think just about EVERYONE wonders what's wrong when they first register. I spent some time looking to see what I had entered incorrectly.

I spent some time looking to see what I had entered incorrectly.LOL - as did I, just didn't want to say anything.Maybe if there was a "Member status" or some other type of message displayed around/above it...Or even display "Operating System: ***" in the info column on the left, considering the importance/usefulness of that information. It would cut the confusion, and would be beneficial whilst troubleshooting.

scuzzman
500 if you want to do it yourself...What does that mean...?After 500 posts you can change the "Windows XX" under your name to whatever you want.
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Ah -- the question was in the previous post...The QUOTE tag can be quite useful, if used... :)
andsome
The point is that we are talking about the confusion caused to newcomers to the forum. By the time people have been around long enough to have made 500 posts, they will have sussed it out anyway. People are inclined to think that something has gone wrong when they first register, as I did.
