edmccrory
Need some help with an alternative method to find the local computer IP address.Tried ipconfig but the window that comes up with the address is gone in an instant, not allowing time to read it at all.Is there another way to find the compter IP address? Thanks for your help,Ed
scuzzman
You should use ipconfig through a command prompt:Go to start, Run, and typecmdThen issue the ipconfig command. Alternative: Go to Start->Control Panel-> Network connections (You may need to go to "Network and Internet Connections", and then "Network connections"). Right-click "Local Area Connection" and select "Status". Go to the "Support" tab and mind the "IP Address" field.Enjoy.
mark2
I've found the WNTIPCFG from W2000 works with XP, giving IP addy and gatewayssee here I have the .exe sitting on my desktop, haven't installed it, works with a simple double click
Agent Smith
Good call from mark2, I use it a lot.You can download it direct from M$ Click HereThe installer is a simple self extractor. Once extracted, simply put a copy of the wntipcfg.exe in your system32 directory. If like me you are a bit nostalgic, you can even rename it winipcfg.exe and use it just like the old Win9x version.Mr. IM
