Guest Nellie2 Posted April 23, 2003 Report Share Posted April 23, 2003 Mark it looks very good for a first go.....and I don't mean that to sound detremental....I am sure you know what I mean, bet there are loads of tweaks to come.The only thing that I would say at this moment though is that the picture of the filing cabinet and hard drive seem to have dropped down into your text on the second paragraph of the Defrag explanation.There are so many sites with all sorts of info on but they all seem to expect you to be computer experts before you get there, basic good sound information like that is an excellent idea!! Agent Smith Posted April 23, 2003 Report Share Posted April 23, 2003 Right, first I should point out that I know very little about web pages, but I have had a look at the page in edit mode and I am wondering if the fact that the images are "moving" around is due to the "absolute" positioning of the images. I am guessing that this would alter the appearance of the page relative to peoples screen resolution.If I am on the right track, is it possible to position the images "relativly" to the page. I used MS word for my site - not the greatest prog for website design but it's adequate for me at the moment. I've just recently started, too.I used frames for mine, with the navigation frame on the left. No matter what page someone is viewing, they can click on a link to any other page. My Website. Not everyone likes frames but I couldn't think of any other way to produce the navigation I wanted.Your images didn't take too long to load (I'm on 56K dial-up). The important thing (in my limited experience) is to get a site uploaded and then you can amend it as you go along and learn new ways of doing things.I look forward to seeing how you develop the site in future - and maybe we can swap notes.Pete Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest Damo Posted April 24, 2003 Report Share Posted April 24, 2003 you dont need frames to make navigating easier mark, all you have to do, is create your navigation buttons in a frame or table or layer on the home page, hyperlink them all to the correct place, then just copy the frame/layer/table, then, on the rest of the pages just hit paste!, it automatically copies the links and places them in the same place as the home page so it all falls into line!Its what I did on my site.
