andsome
Many thanks, first scan now running. I did not opt for "Tea Timer", did I do right, what does it do? If it is of much benefit, short of uninstalling and reinstalling, how do I set it up now?

ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
I did not opt for "Tea Timer", did I do right, what does it do? If it is of much benefit, short of uninstalling and reinstalling, how do I set it up now?"Tea Timer" is the resident Spybot-SD component that sits in the systray and watches out for system changes. It will warn and prompt you for permission if anything is about to change. Don't remember why they called it Tea Timer; I'm sure it's some kind of internal joke. You don't need to set up anything; it will just sit in the systray, monitor your system, and register any changes you have allowed or blocked. Can you see the little icon in the systray? Right-click to see the various options.I'm sure it's my imagination but, one machine I have loaded this on seems to boot much quicker now.I always have the feeling that my system runs better after I installed some brand-new software. :D im not able to download it either for some reason. tried many times and it eithers shows page cannot be displayed or not responding. :angry:Sorry, I haven't found any alternate downloads yet, but I'm sure it will be all over the place within a few days. For now, just try it again at the original download location. It may have been overloaded for a while since there were really lots of people waiting for that new version. I've just downloaded it now at my office without any problem. andsome
I thought I vaguely remembered Tea Timer. I had it set when I was using a Beta version. It worried me a bit by constantly asking permission as to whether or not to allow registry changes. I did not want to do anything wrong, so uninstalled it. Should I reinstall and use Tea Timer, and just agree to all changes when I am installing something, and forbid them otherwise?
scuzzman
That'd be a good way to go about it. This way, you can moniter when something tries to access your registry and deny it if you're not installing something or savig settings in a program, etc.
andsome
Thanks I will uninstall and reinstall the program later.

ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
How is a release canidate different from a final version? How is it different from a beta version?wngA Beta version is released to find possible problems that will be corrected in the final version. A Release Candidate already has most of these beta problems fixed, but my also contain additional functions and components since beta.If no more problems turn up in a release candidate, it may actually be used as the full release.
